ACS wins ‘Re-commerce’ category at Marie Claire Sustainability Awards

Circularity Capital portfolio company Advanced Clothing Solutions (ACS), the UK's leading circular fashion enabler, has taken home gold in the ‘Re-commerce’ category at this year’s Marie Claire Sustainability Awards.

The ceremony, which took place in September, celebrates the brands, organisations and products that are driving change and building a better tomorrow. With the aim of shining a spotlight on sustainable innovation, 14 companies were recognised for their commitment to ethical best practice and leveraging circular business models to drive measurable change.

As Europe's largest circular fashion hub, the judges were impressed with ACS’ work to facilitate rental, resale, renewal and returns for leading brands across the fashion industry, as well as its commitment to recovering value from unsellable inventory – a pioneering approach that reduces waste, cuts carbon emissions and minimises water consumption.

In addition, its comprehensive sustainability goals and workplace safety measures were deemed to demonstrate a real commitment to environmental and social responsibility, paving the way for a greener fashion future.

Mandeep Soor, co-founder at Bendi, and judge of the Marie Claire Sustainability Awards, commented: “It’s clear that ACS is tackling a range of sustainability issues comprehensively. The range of initiatives to tackle waste – of food, clothing, water, etc – is impressive and the solutions to achieve their goals adopt some great innovation."

Andrew Shannon, founding partner at Circularity Capital, added: “ACS provides the capabilities and processes to enable retailers to scale their rental, subscription and resale ambitions with ease, transforming the industry from a traditional take-make-dispose model to one of reuse and resale. This award is the latest in a long line of accolades that demonstrate the disruptive potential of embracing circular business models – as well as their pivotal role in the fashion industry of tomorrow.”
