Circularity investee Green Home Systems wins Planet Saver award

Circularity Capital portfolio company Green Home Systems (GHS), a leader in the installation of energy efficiency measures for domestic properties, has taken home gold in the ‘Planet Saver’ category at this year’s Chamber Business Awards.

Organised by the British Chambers of Commerce, the prestigious national event – now in its 20th year – aims to showcase the pioneering role of UK businesses in delivering growth and prosperity for their local communities. The Planet Saver category celebrates companies that operate with sustainability at their heart and can demonstrate a clear commitment to making the world a better place.

GHS, a member of the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce, received the award after progressing through a series of regional heats. The judges were impressed by the mission-driven company’s continued efforts to eradicate fuel poverty, which include delivering in excess of 16,500 energy efficiency projects, lifting more than 7,000 families out of fuel poverty and preventing more than 500,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide from being emitted into the atmosphere.

Established in 2014, the business has a simple mission – to end climate change by making communities energy efficient and carbon neutral. Offering a wide range of services, including thermal insulation, smart heating systems, renewable energy technologies and electric vehicle charge points, GHS believes that we all have a role to play in creating a better planet – one with no carbon emissions and an abundance of cheap, freely-available energy for all.

David Mowat, Partner at Circularity Capital, said: “GHS plays a hugely important role in the delivery of long-term UK targets around both carbon emission reduction and tackling fuel poverty. This award is the latest in a long line of successes for the innovative firm that demonstrate the truly disruptive potential of embracing circular business models.”

Steven Easton, co-founder and chairman of GHS, added: “I am delighted that we have been honoured with such a prestigious award. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, with our raison d-etre being to help fuel poor families reduce their energy bills and carbon emissions. This award is great recognition for all our hard working staff and the success that we have achieved in our business over recent years.”
