Circularity Capital invests in REBIKE

Circularity Capital has continued to build its portfolio of European growth stage businesses enabling the circular economy, by leading a €19 million growth capital round in REBIKE. REBIKE has simultaneously raised €5 million in debt, contributing to a €24 million financing round in total.

The market leader in premium eBike rental and remanufacturing, German-headquartered REBIKE operates an eBike refurbishment process in-house, working hand-in-hand with its rental and subscription solution. Delivered through its proprietary in-house refurbishment facilities, REBIKE enables customers to purchase pre-loved eBikes in ‘as new’ condition – with mechanical parts replaced and electronic parts, such as the battery and motor, inspected and serviced.

REBIKE® enables the use of eBikes across multiple lifecycles, through subscription and refurbishment, with the company providing invaluable feedback on product design to its suppliers – allowing models to be optimised for longevity and sustainability. As a result, the average lifetime of every eBike is prolonged, while virgin manufacturing is displaced, with additional environmental benefits delivered by the electrification of transportation.

Circularity Capital will play an active role in supporting the REBIKE management team as the company accelerates its global growth. Andrew Shannon, partner at Circularity Capital, has joined the board.

Andrew Shannon commented: “As the latest addition to our growing portfolio, we’re looking forward to supporting the REBIKE management team as the company continues to build its brand recognition as a market leader. REBIKE delivers a market-leading solution and benefits from soaring demand in electric transportation. Our investment supports the team’s ambitious growth strategy and will help to position the company as a leading European provider of circular eBike solutions.”

Thomas Bernik, Co-Founder of REBIKE added: “REBIKE has set the benchmark in convenience and quality for customers of both new and pre-loved eBikes. As a result, we’ve grown our loyal customer base across the DACH region, who enjoy a flexible and sustainable transport solution delivered in line with the latest trends and technology.

“We’re proud to provide an exceptional customer experience and enable our customers to fully appreciate each product. We’re excited to welcome Circularity Capital on board as an investor - the team shares our common mission and values to provide the specialist expertise in the circular economy needed to support our ambitious growth strategy.”
