Over and above my role as a member of the Investment Committee, my principal focus area is portfolio management, both representing Circularity on investee company boards but also coordinating the broader portfolio management activities across the team.

Circularity Capital's mission to support SME growth and innovation across the circular economy provides a compelling opportunity to deliver a combination of strong commercial returns and measurable positive environmental and social impact. My previous experience combining mainstream private equity investment, corporate finance and M&A, coupled with an executive management role in a circular business demonstrated the clear potential for generating financial and non-financial returns by supporting SME growth in the circular economy.

I took a traditional route into private equity, initially qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in the early 1990s, before specialising in mid-market corporate finance and M&A. Having taken on my first private equity investment role in London in 2000 I moved to Bank of Scotland Integrated Finance in 2006 and then Caird Capital in 2010. Immediately prior to helping establish Circularity Capital, I spent three years as Finance Director of Dry Lube Limited, an Edinburgh based circular business, before leading the sale of that business to Sealed Air Inc in late 2015.
